I did not have any kind of expectation when I started reading this book. But remember reading some praise for the book which was the reason I got this review copy.
Catherine Emily Brown has a good life going for her which includes her husband Ben and her son. Things looked very rosy. But one day she just decided to leave her home and start living a life of anonymity in a place where it is just too difficult to find anyone. One Step Too Far is all about what made Emily gave up all that was good in her life.
This book got me hooked from Page 1. Tina Seskis has a way of keeping her readers engaged in the story though it often go back and forth between the past and the present. I would say that this book has its own set of flaws, but it is easily forgivable considering that this was a debut novel.
The book was quite well written and was quite fast paced. I did feel that the Tina Seskis hurried a bit with her words towards the end as she was in a hurry to reveal the suspense to her readers. I found myself slightly disoriented in the end but then the suspense was good.
But then is anything worth running away?
Verdict: Good :) Will give 4/5
