Book Review : The Japanese Wife by Kunal Basu

I ordered this book from the Librarywala.com assuming this as a novel, though it turned out to be a set of short stories. The story “The Japanese Wife” has been made into a movie which is directed by Aparna Sen. I believe the movie is an elaborate visual narration of the 13-page story. I found this story very interesting though it is a highly improbable love story.
The rest of the stories weren’t very good. As such I have not enjoyed most short stories as they end before I really comprehend the context ( yea, it is true). Some of these stories were good, but I lost my patience towards the end. I skipped the last two stories and decided not to punish myself by reading those stories.
I know there will be lots of people who have different opinion about this book. As far as the movie is concerned, I think it will be a good one and anyone who likes movies like “The Namesake” will like it.
