When I picked this book for review, I was not entirely sure what to expect considering this to be non-fiction with no particular agenda.  Moreover I was very curious as to how this book is actually gonna someone learn English and how different it is from all the English language books available around us in all bookshops.

I should say that this book did not disappoint me at all. From the beautifully gift wrapped packet in which it arrived from Amazon (thanks to the author) to the last page, this was a true delight. The only problem is that you cannot read it like fiction which is what I tried initially. Believe me, you get to gain a lot of knowledge along with a polish to your English language when you start reading this one.

Later I decided to follow the words of the author himself and read one chapter each at a time. Yes, that was a more satisfying experience.

The best thing about this book is that it is not a Wren & Martin guide to English language, but some sort of memoir by the author where he has taken extra care to insert English words to increase the vocabulary. You don’t see words forced on you, but they come in a smooth flow that they dont suffocate you.

I would recommend this single book to everyone who claims that you don’t have time to read so many books and increase their vocabulary.(which I believe is one of the best ways to actual conquer any language).

Nice write-up! Being able to write creatively is something not all of us are capable of. Count yourself blessed because you have a talent. Getting into the mood in writing does not have a set of rules to follow. ‘To each his own’ is what people say; however, a list of suggestions wouldn’t hurt.writing fiction
