2016 – The Year so far

book shelf pictureNow that we are half way mark of 2016, I thought I will write down about the half year that has gone by.

~Our own space

In May, we moved into our own apartment 2.5 years after booking it. There has been few issues through this journey, but the  overall experience has been quite good. After all the builder completed the construction without much delay, which is a big thing these days in Bangalore.

Getting our own space, deciding on the interior and watching the ideas being transformed into reality – all these were satisfying. We had a small family gathering during the blessing of the house and  this is the biggest highlight till now in 2016.

I have already posted a picture of our book shelf few days back.

I read 21 books so far in 2016. I am not going to list our all the books here, but here are few of my favorites.

  1. The Museum of Things Left Behind by Sani Glaister
  2. When Breath Becomes Air by Paul  Kalanithi
  3. Marcovaldo by Italo Calvino

~Currently Reading

I am currently reading Mister God, This is Anna and is at 35%. This has been an interesting read so far.

I watched few Malayalam movies on TV or my laptop. I cannot recall all of them, but here are my favorites:

  1. Premam
  2. Oru Vadakkan Selfie
  3. Thuvana Thumbikal

I think I like to watch movies by Nivin Pauly for his acting and the refreshing story lines.

I wrote about my recent obsession with sarees and I ended up purchasing 2 sarees, one of them was given to my mother when she came down to Bangalore. The obsession continues and my cupboards are slowly filing with sarees :) Let us see where it leads.

I haven’t cooked much in the last few months except few variations of butter chicken. The little one gets too excited when I am in kitchen and it is scary to have him around. Then plain laziness too.
