~ writing here is something that I really wanted to do, but when I get the time, I really don’t want to go through the process.
~the lack of posts on this blog will continue for some more time unless I get back my mojo by virtue of some miracle..Highly unlikely :)
~ my third child is due in a month. I am expecting the baby to arrive early.
~ i prefer to work in office rather than from home. But since it is risky to travel much in the last month, I have decided to work for 2-3 weeks from home till the baby arrives.
~i have read some good books over the past few months. Some of them were re-reads and some were new. Overall satisfied with the progress.
~ i was very excited about reading on my kindle until recently. But these days, I prefer to go back to physical books. Then I feel that kindle books are overpriced too.
That is all for now…Cya…
When you have written a post about looking back at 2016, I thought I will write about things I look forward to in 2017.
Mummy’s 70th Birthday
I am the 5th child and my parents are elderly. This year I am looking forward to celebrating mummy’s 70th birthday with the whole family. We are planning to have a small get-together including extended families. My mummy’s siblings are older; most of the able-bodied ones are outside India. But we hope that can get few of them to be with her on her special day.
Chotu starts school
Come June, my son will start his formal education starting with nursery. We have already enrolled him in a pre-school from yesterday. The experience has been quite incident-free for the first 2 days, but we are expecting him to bring down the school one day soon. As of now, he is enthralled with all the toys at the pre-school and has even stayed there till noon from 9 am.
I have decided to read just 25 books in 2017 as a part of Goodreads Reading Challenge. This is quite less compared to the target of 35 which I completed in 2016. The reason behind the lesser number is that I want to read a few big books towards the Classics Club challenge in 2017. If I don’t make a dent in the reading list, I may miss the target of reading 50 classics between 2014-2019 by a long way.
Bluehost has hiked the hosting charges quite high that it is forcing me to rethink the hosting. If I am not making any progress in keeping up this blog, I may very well move it to a free wordpress site. Personally I prefer spending time on reading books that use it for writing reviews. There are only very few books that inspire me to write a review and I really don’t want to force myself to write review for the sake of it. Anyway I have decided to give another year to this self-hosted site and will make some decisions by end of the year.
That is all dears. I will try to be more regular here. Do follow me on instagram for better updates regarding my life.
Happy New Year All!
Wishing you all a blessed year ahead. Let all your dreams come true in the coming days.
The daughter & I went to Itsy Bitsy on Friday and got some craft papers. We made this that evening. The butterflies were embellishments we got for the daughter, but she was happy to give me a few. The black lines are uneven because I used a brush and acrylic paint to draw them.
It has been years since I made something like this.Hope to make some more soon.
I joined Zumba classes in our apartment last monday with an aim to give more attention to fitness. Also a bit of time outside work and home will do well for me. Then there is the postpartum tummy that I have been ignoring for some time. It is time to tighten those loose tummy muscles that I desperately hide when I wear sarees.
I am currently in love with zumba fitness and we are usually panting half through the session. I feel satisfied with the overall workout my body gets along with increasing stamina.
I don’t need to loose weight, rather should gain a few kgs and that makes things quite easy on the mind.
The instructor seems to know things which is very important to avoid injuries. And he has loads of patience too, which is encouraging when you don’t get the steps.
I like to dance but I am not good at it. So this is another opportunity for me to improve my dancing skills too. We do a bit of bollywood and salsa and that keeps things a bit more fun.
The best thing about zumba as a fitness regime is that you don’t need to worry about how good or bad you are. You just do your best and try to do better as each day go by.
So…it has been 5 sessions of zumba and I am loving it. I hope to continue these classes because I enjoy that me-time and it will keep me fit too. I can probably skip my runs/walks and not worry about lack of exercise.
